Winter Poem

This poem my husband wrote me on our anniversary this year... We went to the Stewart's home for a Christmas party and this is one of the challenges the men had to do, while the ladies had to judge...even though I couldn't judge Travis... I picked Bro. Maroney's poem. Ha Ha

When I first saw you, I knew it would be true
That forever and ever, I'd be with you

Daily you complete me when I see your smiling face
Constantly I thank God for this beautiful gift of Grace

We proudly married four years ago
By God's Grace, we'll have many more to go

We've had many ups and many downs
But always the smiles out weigh the frowns

I'll always be thankful for the day you stood by my side
And thereafter my best friend became my bride

Sunday

Christmas Time is Here...

Children's Christmas Program went good today. I have some pictures and may post them... Smile Girl After church I went to a Christmas party which is on my husband's mom's side. I came home with a few gifts. I stayed while my husband went to church... He preached and I missed it. Although, I did know that he was preaching and a few people said that the message was really good. It always happens that way! You miss a service and that service is really good. *wonders if Judy was there. Travis said he didn't see her*

Then I come home and change into the pajamas and set a time to when I was gonna do some house work before going to bed. That didn't happen because Travis called me and told me to change again and meet him and a few others at LaRosa's. So I went to LaRosa's for dinner and I am so stuffed!

That was my day pretty much.. Oh and now I am not motivated to clean at all so I am not. It will have to wait until tomorrow. I will clean after I wrap some gifts.

Haven't Forgotten and Which Style Should I Buy!

No, I haven't forgotten that I am to change the layout... and I haven't forgotten that this is a blog and I should post some time! LOL

*sigh* I will get around to it...

Okay so I am getting a Vera Bradley but I don't know whether to go big or small on the style... I will get either the Libby, Lola, Lindsay or the Cargo Sling... I am gearing more toward the Lindsay... Any suggestions? What do you think???

Monday

My layout...

So you probably noticed the strawberries gone! They are out of season what can I say??? LOL No, I am currently working on my own layout for this blog. So check back to see it.. Right now, I decided to revert back to simplicity.

Sunday

Storm hits Home!

It is so windy... It has slowed down a bit since around 2 o'clock this afternoon when it all started. I was coming from Newport Shopping Center (down Monmouth St.) onto Washington Avenue and right at the turn there was a tree slit in half and power lines down! I went a little further and a garbage can on wheels went across the street in front of me. I also saw some other big tree limbs in the middle of the road in which I had to swerve around! After a couple hours (I went to sleep), I decide to look in the back yard and our trellis is down.. :( I hope that the Morning Glories roots weren't pulled all the way out! The next door neighbors garage window is busted out and the lawyers offices right beside them have a tree or big tree limbs in their back patio!

I called my pastor's wife around 4:30 and told her I wasn't coming to church. Sure, it is only in the next city beside me but I wasn't taking that chance. My MIL said that where they are building that clinic on Monmouth, that there was sheets of metal flying out into the road! It is dangerous out there and the reports say that it isn't to let up until 9 PM. So we got about another hour to go.

My husband texted me and told be that MicroCenter is about the only ones with power over there in OH! I am thankful for power right now. He said that they don't have any internet connection though. Hopefully, things will be okay when he comes home tonight around 10. He usually doesn't have to work on Sunday nights but had mandatory inventory today.

Well, that is all for now. Maybe I'll give more of a personal update later!

Fail

It is past Thursday and I haven't applied for Phlebotomy Jobs! I am off Monday. I will do something! lol

Saturday

Work.

Ohh, I am so tired. I am going to bed. I didn't get in from work until 11 PM. It is now 12 AM and I gotta be back up around 5:45 and get ready, go to the gas station and then be back at work at 7 AM. Wondeful.

*exhausted*

Wednesday

Job Hunting

Okay, so I am not like a lion hunting its prey. But I have been placing applications online. I believe I have done 3 so far. I am pretty sure that I am gonna apply for Phlebotomy jobs... I just have to find the ad again!!!!!!

I was talking with my Dad day before yesterday and he told me that I need to find something I'd like. I am not really sure what that is. I enjoyed Phlebotomy and I was really good at it. I didn't have a Phlebotomy job before, however, I did take a few weeks internship at a hospital's lab and it was awesome. Now since I was given this car, I am able to apply. And if I have to drive back and forth from place to place or peoples homes, I would be willing. I'd love to get a job where I am at home at a decent hour every day.

Of course, my ideal job would be to stay here and keep the house in order. But I don't see that happening any time soon. I was thinking about how much money I would save if I did stay home and be frugal. I know it would be a lot... but I am not sure if it would be enough.

So, my plan is to be out of Wal-mart by the end of August! I know I have set goals in the past for this... and I have not stuck with it. But this time, I am sticking to it like a chubby kids lips is to chocolate cake. Haha. I've got a plan!!

If you know of any jobs in the area, that I may be of interest, let me know! As long as it isn't retail!!!!! I just want out of retail... and I will be a little happier!

Applying for the Phlebotomy jobs no later than Thursday!

How do people do it?

It is so hard. I miss my mom. When I am by myself, I just cry and can't get over her passing. I know I have to take it one day at a time.. But there are events in my life that I want her there for. When I become pregnant, I want her there to tell her I am expecting. When the baby is born, I want her there... *sigh* Just the other day, I was doing dishes and crying... Could hardly see the dishes that I was supposed to be washing. It hits me when I am alone. I guess it is because I don't have nothing else to be thinking about. How do people do it? I feel so bad for my dad. He is still taking it extremely hard. I wish I had the vacation time to go up there and visit.

Wednesday

Funny Thing Happened in the middle of Children's Church Tonight!

So, I was in the middle of teaching a lesson on Ruth being loyal to Naomi... I used the children that were down in children's church as part of the story tonight. So, we had Elimelech dead on the floor and then Ruth and Orpah's husband died... and they laid on the floor too. So, you have these three ornery little boys not wanting to pay attention but talking among their selves! Anyways, I am trying to explain how Orpah left and went back to her home... and how Ruth stuck by Naomi through the good and the bad. Right in the middle of this, one of the little boys passed gas! And everyone was laughing. I tried to cover my laughter with the lesson book. But I told my friend Tiffhanie that it was definitely being put down in the blog. So there you have it!

Above a picture of me and my hubby when we were in the WV/PA/OH area... This was taken at the Olive Garden in Robinson Township in PA!

Garden Of Hope in Covington, KY.
Not many people in Kentucky and the Cincinnati area even know that it is there!!! We are gonna go back when WEBN have their fireworks... You can see every thing up there.

This statue was shipped over from Naples, Italy in memory of a gentlemens wife. The tour guide told us that it appears that Jesus is watching all of the Northren KY area because the statue is faced in the direction where it can see the skyline as shown below in the pictures.

The inside of the church. The chandelier and candle holders on the wall where stolen once out of the church and sold to a pawn shop. Needless to say they got them back because Property of Garden of Hope was engraved on them! The marble slab that is on the floor is from the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus preached from.

Not bad for a replica. I have a video of the tour guide ringing these bells. If I can get that uploaded maybe I'll post it one day.

On the tombs of followers of Christ in that day... This one is Jesus'... It basically says that he is the Alpha and Omega. Not just a follower but the Christ. It is a tomb's equivalent to a Christian meeting place marker called Ichthus.
