Garden Of Hope in Covington, KY.
Not many people in Kentucky and the Cincinnati area even know that it is there!!! We are gonna go back when WEBN have their fireworks... You can see every thing up there.
This statue was shipped over from Naples, Italy in memory of a gentlemens wife. The tour guide told us that it appears that Jesus is watching all of the Northren KY area because the statue is faced in the direction where it can see the skyline as shown below in the pictures.
Some of the very stones in this wall are stones from the road of Damascus where Saul was converted to Paul.
Judas' tree. The very same kind of tree that Judas hung himself on.
A rock from Solomon's Temple/Wailing Wall
This Church is a replica of a 16th century chapel
The inside of the church. The chandelier and candle holders on the wall where stolen once out of the church and sold to a pawn shop. Needless to say they got them back because Property of Garden of Hope was engraved on them! The marble slab that is on the floor is from the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus preached from.
My hubby stood on it and quoted Acts 2:38... Not sure what connection he felt... hehe
Not bad for a replica. I have a video of the tour guide ringing these bells. If I can get that uploaded maybe I'll post it one day.
And the replica of the garden tomb...
Off to the side a wine press built like they were in bible days except it was on the opposite side of where it should be on the real tomb.
This makes you want to shout!
On the tombs of followers of Christ in that day... This one is Jesus'... It basically says that he is the Alpha and Omega. Not just a follower but the Christ. It is a tomb's equivalent to a Christian meeting place marker called Ichthus.
This is a symbol for a pagan God.
The statue again... and a cross!
You can see the tour guide in this picture.
This rock is out of the Jordon River.
These rocks are from the Good Samaritian's Inn.
Art rendition of first century Jewish carpenter
Some tools that age from 300 to 1000 years old. Some are similar to ones that Jesus would have used.
