Little Me and Big Me

Bro. Buller came to the Lighthouse last night and preached a message titled "Little Me and Big Me." It really was a great message. We've got to say "Little Me" get out of the way and "Big Me" take over. As little me, David could have ran away when faced up against Goliath, but he didn't let little me get in the way. David said "Big Me" take over!

You see, little me is our flesh. Our wants, our desires. Little me sometimes walks in fear and doubt. Big me is what God wants. Big me allows us to move in the Spirit. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 1:7...
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

This message is by far one of the messages this year that I wholeheartedly want to take to heart and not just be a hearer of the Word but a doer! Jesus, help me to push the Little me out of the way and let the Big me take over!

Do Not Be Deceived....

James 1:16

Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.

So, I have been studying James with Good Morning Girls. Going on my third week starting on Monday. We are still on the first chapter. I am a little behind because I let my flesh get in the way instead of studying the word (fell asleep and then was too tired to do the study) so I just now did James 1:16-18 which should have been done as of yesterday! *shame on me* Anyways, I just wanted to share a little bit of what has stuck out to me and maybe it will be a little reminder to you.

So, James writes to the people and tells them to not be deceived. Why? Because obviously there are influences/people out there in the world that will try to mislead you. Deceived also means double-cross, beguiled and betray... Have you ever been double-crossed? Have you ever been beguiled or betrayed? Of course, we all have. Satan, wants to try and make us believe things that are not true. What James is telling these people is to not give into those things that only last for a season. We should not wander from the word of God. We need to stay strong and focus! Boy, this does preach doesn't it! haha

God, let me not wander from your Word. I cannot allow myself to be misled!

Have a good night!

Sounds good... Doesn't it!? It will be my first time making it... However not tonight. Instead, I'll make Montreal Chicken and some Mac N Cheese. Starting that as soon as I get done with this post.

It was great to sleep in this morning. I woke up several times though. Well, first off I woke up a few times to go to the rest room... then I had a charlie in my foot and also woke up coughing several times. Yes, it is that season. My allergies are not good... LOL I think both Travis and I have an upper respiratory infection as well!! Can't wait until it is warm again! Anyone want this weather? I'll give it to you free!

After we got up and got ready, we went over to Jim's house for Trevor's 5th birthday... :) It was nice. He made Spaghetti and Garlic Bread and had a really good cupcake cake. We got Trevor a Cars puzzle and a Veggietales DVD! Hopefully, he'll get around to working the puzzle and watching the DVD. It was nice to have something to do on a Saturday. I was great to fellowship with some other people.

Well, I may write another post after dinner... I know I do have to study my Sunday School lesson for tomorrow. Talking about connecting to friends this next 4 weeks. Hopefully, my Preteens can make the right connections.

Until later,

Wednesday

Yay! Best Qualified

I got an email from the IRS! Stated that they sent my application to the Official that does the selecting. It said I was among the best qualified for the position and that I should receive an email or phone call regarding the status! So please pray that I get one of those soon!

Long day: I didn't get half the stuff accomplished that I wanted to... still need to fold some clothes and do dishes. It will have to wait until tomorrow sometime...

Nite,

Still need help coming up with a name!!!

I had a couple of ideas but didn't end up panning out! :) So any ideas from some of you that read/have been to this blog of mine?

I haven't been able to type all day long! It has been driving me crazy. You should have seen me at work today. Someone actually did. Some guy was sitting with me doing side by sides. I was so busy he didn't even get to touch my computer. Poor guy. hahaha Anyway, I was making some horrible errors. I was typing words that didn't even make sense. My fingers just went and typed whatever they wanted. And with me having a cold or maybe it is just sinuses didn't help any. It wasn't pretty. And to top it off, of course today is a Monday! Hoping Tuesday is better!

Started studying James today! :) I am excited and hoping I can keep up with this every single day for the next 12 weeks. You can still check it out if you want to join along. See my previous post!

Well, I am going to find something to do. Let me know about a new name if you have any ideas.

Sunday

Blogging Tag Line and Name....

So, I've taken my header down and changed the layout of my blog... However, I am really trying to come up with a name and tagline. I just don't want it to be just my name any more (like it is now)... so plain ya know?

Anyways, I am behind on my bible reading already! I may not make it through the Bible this year... I am however really hoping too!

I am excited to be starting the James Book Club this coming Monday. I have a really cute journal that I am going to use in this 12 week study. If you'd like to join in, visit this link: James Book Club - Good Morning Girls

In other news, I am still waiting on the IRS to contact me back concerning the Data Transcriber Job! I am going to send them an email tomorrow at some point just to let them know that I am very much interested. I hope it is just for the fact that it isn't starting until February that they didn't call me yet. And not for the fact that they don't want/need me. *insert a displeased needing to get away from Customer Service Phone Job girl with sad face here* Hoping for a returned email with dates that training starts... definitely hoping that this happens!!!

Praying that my husband gets a new job as well! He is going to be applying for a job at University of Cincinnati in the IT dept. This would be great if he could get it because he did go to college for this type of stuff. Right now working as Parts Coordinator at MicroCenter is okay but this UC job offers better benefits and salary pay. He said that he is still praying about applying. I say it wouldn't hurt to apply and then pray. Also, if he got it we could both go back to school there. I don't have any problems with that. I'd love to go.

So remember me stating that I need a tagline and name... well, if you have any ideas for a cute inspirational blog name and tagline let me know! Please... so that I can move on with the blog updates... hahaha.

Nite,

Dear Jesus

Dear Jesus,

Today has been one horribly emotional day. Work was back to back calls...
Just not a good day at all.

Make tomorrow better. Thanks.

Revival Services and the dread of going back to work. haha

I had a great time this weekend. The Roland Family from Morgantown, KY came up for Watch Night Service and Saturday night. They also preached both of today's services. We had a shout down service tonight. Even though I was trying to keep my slip and skirt from falling down when shouting! hahaha I guess that is a good thing. Anyways, God is good. I am excited of what he is doing and going to do this year. It is one of my goals to grow closer to Him.

So, I don't really want to go back to work tomorrow. I have a feeling that we are going to be soooo busy. See, the reps have been off work since Dec 23rd. They are going to call in with so many problems tomorrow. Guaranteed! I don't want to be there. I trained on Thursday for setting up appointments. It is better than Customer Service but a little more complicated. I am hoping that I can do that work. I really want on the email team... but don't see that happening. But, I can continue to pray and hope!

Speaking of the job, I am waiting on the IRS to call back!!! I am supposed to start training in February for Data Transcript! I have already passed the testing and was told to keep a look out in my email as well as keep my phone on! I can't wait until I hear from them. I'll be leaving this job for that one! Thank you Jesus!

Well, I am gonna go watch a movie with the hubby and eat some ice cream... hahaha not good for the diet, I know. But it is Moose Tracks. Yummm!

Saturday

New Year Goals

No, not at all are they resolutions. I was thinking about this before tonight and made up in my mind that it was going to be goals that I set and not resolutions because resolutions I break. Right before the message, Bro. Roland got up and stated the difference between goals and resolutions! I am glad that there was some confirmation there! He preached tonight a message titled "Praising Ahead Of A Miracle" and I am hoping this year to do that. I will dance in advance... I will praise like Paul and Silas when they were in prison! All their chains were loosed, they praised ahead!
So just a few of my goals this year in no particular order:

*Draw Closer to My Jesus! Pray more!
Read more: I got myself a new Bible on Black Friday. It is a study bible. I hope to wear it out this year.
*Drop some more weight. I've lost 20 lbs so far. Making small goals on this goal. My next weight to lose is 10 lbs and then I will go from there!
*Pay the credit card down to at least half of where it is now
*Exercise more - I got a WiiFit Plus for Christmas and I love it. Also got The Biggest Loser Challenge for it... This should help me in dropping weight. About 2 hours ago, I did a workout after coming home from the Watch Night Service
*Buy a house.
*Blog more
*Maybe start taking a college class
