Crockpot Green Beans (Roxy Style)

Hey everyone,

I made these green beans a couple days ago. I went to Jungle Jims and they were on sale for .59 cents a pound and couldn't pass that up! Enjoy. Even my husband liked them and he doesn't like green beans. HAHA So I think I got the grade! Let me know what you think!

Sorry that I didn't get this to you last night :)

Crockpot Green Beans (Roxy style)

2 Tablespoons of diced onion (you can use more if you want)
32 Ounces of Chicken Broth. (this is what makes them amazing)
2 pounds of fresh green beans (you could use cans or frozen too)
1 pound of tiny potatoes
Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder
Tablespoon of Butter/Margarine
Bacon Pieces or Ham (I used about 3 tablespoons of real bacon pieces)

Rinse and cut ends of green beans and place into crockpot. Add potatoes on the top.

Pour on top the 32 oz of chicken broth. Add the onion.
Add your meat choice. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Add butter on top. Place lid on the crockpot.

Cook on High for 5 hours. (you could also cook on low for probably 8 or 9 hrs)

I am sure that you could do the same on the stove however I am not sure how long or on what setting you would use since I did mine in the crockpot. If you make these let me know how you like them!!!

Have a happy day,

Breaking The Silence

I am participating in the link up with Joy Filled Mama. She asks "If you have experienced miscarriage, please feel free to join me in "breaking the silence." If you have (or want to write up) a blog post about your precious baby, your experience, your feelings, your can link up here." So, that is what I am going to do... I am going to share and then put a link up on her page as well... We have to break the silence of miscarriages instead of suffering in the silence.

Did you know that Facebook had a break the silence event on Thursday of this past week, the 21st? I joined in on that and read a lot of posts from other mothers who had lost their little ones. This is what I posted:
In loving memory of my little angel, David 06-02-09 preborn @ 14 weeks. You'd be around 19 months today. You are missed and loved. ♥
I find comfort knowing he is with his heavenly Father. I was actually reading in my study bible (off topic- I just love this new bible that I bought on Black Friday last year. It has all kinds of topics in it.) and it has a few scriptures that has helped me out in losing our baby 2 years ago.

1. God's love encompasses the preborn and that He is involved in the development of the child in the womb.
Ps 139:13-14 NKJV
13 For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;[a]
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
2. These preborn children although lost to earthly life, are special to God
Mark 10:14
14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.
3. The "infants who never saw light" of day are at rest.
Job 3:16-17
16 Or why was I not hidden like a stillborn child,
Like infants who never saw light?

17 There the wicked cease from troubling,
And there the weary are at rest.
4. I will one day be reunited with little David Ahaziah...
2 Samuel 12:23
23 But now he is dead; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.”

Maybe these scriptures will help you. Please understand, that yes, I still grieve and sometimes it isn't a pretty sight. All teary eyed and breathless. I might even question WHY again. See, there is such a connection between a mama and their baby once the baby is conceived and you see that pregnancy test result. Even more so, once you hear that little heartbeat and see that first sonogram. It is definitely love at first sight. And you can't wait to see your baby on delivery day. I don't think that I will ever stop longing for just a hug or to hear him say "Mama, I need/love you." However, it does make it easier knowing that your baby is at rest and with God.

Please stop over to JoyFilledMama's Blog and read it if you would like... she has some great thoughts on this subject having had miscarriages as well. It is so important to break the silence and offer your support to those in need.

I am also joining in on a week long blog hop...won't you join us over at Homemaker By Choice.

Have a happy day,

Newport Aquarium Pictures

Without further ado, here are just a few of the photos that I personally took and edit!

We had a great time. The tickets were actually complimentary from a couple of friends of ours. Thanks to them! Like I said, these are just a few of the photos that we took. Here are two videos. I hope you like them. One is of the moon jellies and the other is of the penguins. Pardon the tilt of the camera on the penguin video.

Please let me know what you think!? Have a happy day,

New Layout. This should do for a while.

So, I got tired of my previous template not showing up on my computer for some reason, that is why there is a new one. :) I am about to edit those photos that I have promised... Trying to think of what to have for dinner tonight? Any ideas?

Time Has Gotten Away

So I said that I was going to update with photos from the Aquarium! It will have to wait until tomorrow because time has gotten away from me. We didn't even come home this afternoon and with having only 3 hours of sleep, I am probably going to turn in early.

Stay tuned!

Fun Day!

I just have to say that I had a really fun day today with my husband and earlier on in the day with some friends from church :)

We got up a little late but it is Saturday so why not sleep in a little?

First stop, UDF to meet up with the soon to be Todds and then Bro. Darrell showed up. We had some ice cream and it was nice fellowship. Then, we went to the Levee with Bro. Darrell and walked around for a bit. It started to pour and we were standing underneath an awning of Barnes and Noble. Bro. Darrell went his separate way; and the hubby and I went to Newport Aquarium. We had complimentary tickets which was really nice to get to go in free of charge. Thanks to some wonderful friends who moved away :( We had a great time. After that, we went to eat at PepperPod in Newport. A little diner type restaurant. After that we went to the in-laws place and she gave us some stuff to bring home and I got some scrapping stuff... pretty cool! Came home and I made Strawberry Banana shakes... Yum.

Will have pictures up hopefully tomorrow on the blog of our eventful day :) I have to edit them and save them, and all that fun stuff!

Question: do you think the emoticons ( aka :) smileys ) are stupid in a blog? I like using them.

Have a happy day,

Been Sick

So, I've been sick again. You may have seen my post on Facebook if you follow me on there. It started with my husband!!! I am sorry I haven't updated like I said I would. I've had to cancel on my MIL twice and couldn't make it to the church to help clean one of the rooms because of it. It is for the birds, I say!

Have a happy day,

Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day. It was a nice day. We slept in too long this morning... I guess that is why I am still up at 12:30. We went over to Granny's for a cook-out. Burgers, Hot Dogs, Baked Beans and Potato Salad. It was all good. :) After that Travis fell asleep on a recliner while Granny, MIL and me played Phase 10. It was really fun. MIL ended up winning! I came in second and then Granny lost. But, with them not having played it before, they caught on quick. I think we might end up playing on Friday after a trip to Jungle Jims! ;-) Speaking of Jungle Jims, Travis and I went there on Saturday. We had a fun time... Here are just a couple pictures!

Over 1400 different hot sauces. This is obviously just one aisle :)

This is a picture of a Taxi from India. It was actually used in India before coming to Jungle Jims. It is tiny. Not sure if I could drive a taxi in India.

We went to The Root Beer Stand afterwards for food. I didn't like the burger I got so I gave the rest to my hubby. But their floats are always delightful! :)

Back to today, we came home today and I made us some dinner. He had a sandwich and a Smartones. I made me a salad. It was really good. Here is a picture of it before I added some cheddar cheese, Salad Toppins, and Apple Cider Vinegar!

I just got caught up on my Bible reading. I am following the plan that Her Noble Character blogged about recently. It is a 6 month plan. So, you can still join in! I missed two days, Saturday and Sunday. So I read 18 chapters tonight to catch up!

Hope your 4th was great! Let me know what you did... Comment below!

Have a happy day,

Nothing Is Worse Than...

losing your memory.

My friend Chris was in an accident yesterday... He was riding a quad and flipped over it. He has a severe concussion. I felt so bad for him and still do because he is having memory problems. It happened around 6 PM Saturday July 2nd. He was in IN when it happened and Sis. Vivian brought him to KY because she heard that the Kentucky hospital was better than Indiana's.... So, it took her about an hr to get there. We got a call from Sis. Betty at church to start praying. We decided to go to the hospital... I called Sis. Vivian and told her we were coming and to see what happened. We got to the hospital and he was just coming out of X-ray and CT-Scan. Bro. D (the Asst Pastor) beat us there and went to see Chris and came out and gave us an update. He said that records showed everything was clear. But, he was still in a loop of asking the same questions. We went to the back to see him and I just felt so bad. He was weepy. He is a big guy and I just never saw him weepy. It was the scared, weepy. Felt so bad for him!

We left the hospital around 11PM and went over to his house. I was surprised they even let him go home. We stayed there until 2 in the morning. He still was asking questions when we left. What day it was? What happened? How much he owed? What was the date? When was he getting married? Today, I was told that he didn't know who Madison and Cayden were. This is not good because he is pretty close to both these little girls. They are Tiffhanie's (his fiance) nieces. Praying that he gets well soon.

On a lighter subject, Travis and I are starting to vlog. We are going to be editing the ones that we did while at Family camp. I will upload them once we get them done. I am sure that you will find them quite delightful. I am so dorky in them. So do subscribe for some more dorkiness! :)

Have a happy day,
